Entrusted
by the Government of India to propagate and trnsmit the facts of
diversified application of Jute, the National Center for Jute
Diversification aimed to attain the goal. NCJD carried out the
diversification plan with its skillful collaborating agencies - The Jute
Service Centres (JSC) spread through out the country. The Jute
Service Centres implement annual action plan drawn by NCJD in consultation
with respective centres and local government authorities. The action
plan includes, amongst other things, Trade specific training programmes,
awareness programmes and product development and marketing exercises.

The
services rendered by JSC, on behalf of NCJD includes counselling,
information on diverse possibilities with Jute, assistance in preparation
of a tentative project profile for setting up a production unit, sourcing
of raw material, providing designs for various marketable products,
assisting and facilitating in marketing of produce, organising
training on various jute trades, developing jute products of newer kind
etc..
